IEEE AUST Student Branch in collaboration with Department of EEE, AUST organized an interactive and engaging hands-on workshop titled “𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲”, arranged by Ulterior Engineering at their Industrial R&D Lab on the 18th of May, 2024.

The workshop was intended to provide a comprehensive and hands-on introduction to a range of tools, software, and technologies related to the industrial automation industry, as well as a sense of the potential career paths within this field.

Two of our esteemed faculty members, namely Mr. Mushfiqul Ahmed (Assistant Professor, Dept of EEE, AUST) and Mr. Baizeed Ahmed Bhuiyan (Lecturer, Dept of EEE, AUST) ensured their precious presence in the workshop.

There were two sections to the entire session. The first section provides a fundamental introduction to industrial automation and controlling systems, and the skills, equipment like MCC, VFD,PLC, and software like SCADA needed for industrial automation, as well as a full discussion of job options related to this field in Bangladesh. Additionally, PLC programming has been shown in practice on industrial machinery in the later section.

The workshop was highly beneficial in expanding participants’ perspectives on industrial automation by offering an interactive learning environment and motivating the participants to acquire the skills related to industrial automation which will ultimately pave their way to promising careers in this cutting-edge and fascinating sector.
