Climate change refers to long-term shifts in weather patterns, caused primarily by human activities like burning fossil fuels and deforestation. Its effects include rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns, and extreme weather events. In Bangladesh, a low-lying delta region, climate change poses significant threats. Sea level rise endangers coastal communities, while erratic rainfall leads to floods and droughts, impacting agriculture and food security. Cyclones are becoming more frequent and intense, exacerbating the risks of displacement and infrastructure damage. Bangladesh’s vulnerability to climate change highlights the urgent need for global action to mitigate emissions and support adaptation efforts in vulnerable regions.

In this seminar, attendees will learn in detail about climate change and will understand plans for its mitigation. Additionally, they will gain insights into vulnerabilities,impacts and major actions related to climate change.
