IEEE Electron Device Society, a non-profit technical organization, functions for the expansion and promotion of technical knowledge and insights on electron and ion-based devices that offer and respond to photo-electronic, electromagnetic, bio-electronic, and electro-mechanical signals and academically encourages education, research, enhancement, and production of such devices.

1Mission

Facilitating the simple access to and dissemination of technical knowledge, enabling progress and development, supporting research and publication, ensuring professional acknowledgment, and improving outreach and public visibility in the domain of electron devices.

2Vision

To be a productive forum for the acquisition, sharing, and encouragement of knowledge and information about electron devices; to investigate and analyze this knowledge to generate innovative ideas and understandings; to open the door for the creation of new technologies that will eventually improve and ease human life; and to foster goodwill and fellowship amongst electron device professionals across the globe.

3Why join EDS?

IEEE EDS offers its members an effective platform for global networking with peers, researchers, and industry experts on electron devices worldwide through webinars, workshops, and conferences. Members can leverage these professional interactions to undertake interdisciplinary research, explore new technologies, and contribute to the advancement of electron device science and engineering. This society also offers insights into industry trends, market dynamics, and commercial applications of electron devices, which helps members gain valuable perspectives on their practical implications.

Ultimately, this society helps to build a strong global technical community with talented and like-minded individuals worldwide interested in electron devices.

4What activities does this society do?

IEEE EDS does all possible activities and functions to promote and disseminate insights on electron devices and technology. It acts as a storehouse of technical data on electron devices and their related technologies. Members have suitable access to all types of information related to electron devices. It encourages research in the field of electron devices through the publication and documentation of research works. For the promotion of insights and ideas, seminars, webinars, conferences, workshops, and forums are arranged occasionally. This society is engaged in engineering, science, layout, modeling, and the dependability of electron devices and the uses they serve.

Message
Since its establishment in 2004, the IEEE AUST student branch (IASB) has been doing a wonderful job by organizing a variety of seminars, technical workshops, competitions, networking events and industrial tours to connect the students with the global technical community and assist them to become successful professionals in electrical, electronic and computer engineering fields. I am very happy to announce that in 2024, IASB launched the Electron Device Society (EDS) Student Branch Chapter, with the goal of easing the dissemination of technical knowledge, facilitating research and publication, and ensuring professional recognition in the field of electron devices. As the advisor of the EDS chapter, I am confident that it will significantly contribute towards the students’ development in the frontier of electron devices. Therefore, I encourage the students to join the IASB and EDS chapter to grab the opportunities and thrive. I wish for continued success for IASB and all its associated chapters.
