IEEE Power & Energy Society AUST Student Branch Chapter is delighted to organize an exclusive technical seminar featuring two distinguished professors from Murdoch University, Australia, scheduled for 2 August 2026.

This seminar is organized by IEEE PES AUST SBC as part of its continued commitment to promoting technical excellence, research and professional development among students. The session will provide valuable insights into the latest advancements in energy sustainability, renewable energy systems, smart grids, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, while also highlighting international research collaborations, higher study opportunities, and academic pathways at Murdoch University.

The seminar will feature two distinguished speakers: Prof. GM Shafiullah and Prof. Ferdous Sohel.

Prof. GM Shafiullah, Professor at the School of Engineering and Energy, Murdoch University, Australia, will deliver a session titled “Research and Teaching in Energy Sustainability and Industrial Transformation.” His talk will focus on renewable energy integrated microgrids, battery and hydrogen-based energy storage, sustainable power systems, and opportunities for higher studies and research at Murdoch University.

Prof. Ferdous Sohel, Professor at the School of Information Technology, Murdoch University, Australia, will present “Machine Learning and its Translation in Agriculture, Health, and Environment Research.” His session will explore recent advancements in artificial intelligence and deep learning, their real-world applications, current research challenges, and future opportunities in computing and digital innovation.
